This year's LEVAS Annual Outing was held at the Canals & Rivers Trust run fishery, Blyth Waters near Knowle (Birmingham), on the Bridge Pool.  The match, which was preceded with a breakfast and followed with an excellent carvery dinner at a nearby Toby Carvery, was fished in quite good weather considering the forecast, with only a little light rain and a light wind.

Nigel Brailsford continued his rich run of form with another win (which won the Fletcher Cup), which also moved him back to the top of the Championship Leader Board.  Nigel, on peg 18, opted for a method feeder and cast close to the island for a carp catch of 67-10, although runner up Brian Leafe (another form angler on peg 23) was close on his heels with 63-12.  Brian caught a couple of early fish on long pole before resorting to his current favoured method of corn fished in the margins for the rest of his carp catch.

Behind these two there was quite a drop to third place, Rob Pembridge's 45-08 from peg 13 lifting him to second place in the Championship.  Rob had a couple of early fish on method feeder before a switch to paste fished at 8m helped him take the remainder of his fish.  Steve Hoult (peg 16) struggled in the early stages before he found carp late on the day baiting with worm over maggot feed in the margins, his 42-06 lifting fourth place.

Dave Lewis (peg 30) came fifth with a marvellous catch of bream, and only had a single carp in his 40-10 catch, Paul Richardson (peg 34) in sixth place with 35-12.

Nigel Brailsford, at the half-way stage, now tops the Championship with 141 points, with Rob Pembridge on 135, Les Smedley on 129, Steve Hoult on 127 and Paul Marriott 122 completing the top five.
