On a very blustery day that promised rain that didn't materialise, members of LEVAS and Soldiers & Sailors lined the banks of Hacketts Lake (near Nottingham) for LEVAS's Championship Match twelve, which was also for their Centenary Cup.

Unfortunately, the venue did not fish up to expectations, probably due to the recent drop in temperatures, and the expected weights from pegs 31-37 were non-existent as those anglers struggled for bites.  Although the top two weights were clear of the field, the next four were split by less than five pounds.

Top weight on the day was venue regular Keith White with 57-02 from peg 43.  Keith caught around 30-00 in the first hour on feeder baited with pellet, but his catch rate slowed and as the match progressed his activity ceased.

Bill Peach (peg 49) took second spot with 32-00 on method feeder, with Dave Cotterill taking third place fishing similarly with 26-12 from adjacent peg 48.

Les Smedley's practice on the venue paid off with his 24-00 for fourth place from end peg 55, Neil Stevenson taking fifth spot with 23-04 from peg 44, Steve Talbot filling sixth place with a pole caught 21-14 consisting of three carp.

Nigel Brailsford has retained the Championship lead with 164 points, Les Smedley has jumped up to second spot on 160, followed by Rob Pembridge (153), Paul Marriott (152) and John Adamson (149) making up the top five.
