REPORT

LEVAS Championship match Nine (also for the K Smith Cup) was fished on Sunday at the ASTON Park Fishery (near Rotherham) on the Split Pool, and was again reasonably well attended. 

 

Matt Gaetto on peg 28 carried his form from the previous week into this match and this time went one better with a win. A switch to 14.5m on the pole and baiting with worm over caster and pellet feed proved successful and he landed around eighteen carp for a total of 51-00.

 

Keith White, facing the wind on peg 40, put 44-15 on the scales for second place.  Keith included 18-14 of “silver fish” as well as 26-01 of carp in his total.

 

Mick Lager, another in form angler, took third place with 34-01 from peg 27, which included 18-14 of silvers, Malc Munn (peg 34) taking fourth place with 28-04 (which included 20-09 of “silvers”, which took the “silvers” prize.

 

Dick Abbott (peg 37) was fifth with 28-03, and John Adamson (peg 36) sixth with 26-14.

 

Points leaders are John Adamson (136), Mick Lager (128), Les Smedley and Keith White (both 119).

 

Match 10 is at the Longford Fishery (between Asbourne and Derby) on the Carr Wood Pool.  Book in with Dave Kent.
