REPORT

The eleventh match of the 2020 LEVAS Championship series was fished on the Kingfisher Lake at Beechwood Park with another good turnout of members, and in spite of the strong and gusting wind, some thunder and lightening and some rain showers, the lake generally fished well with all anglers catching fish and weighing in.

Matt Gaetto continued his stunning run of matches with another win, giving him two wins, a second and a third from the last four matches.  On peg 10, Matt caught carp throughout the day fishing pole tight to the island and from both margins to put 105-11 on the scales.

Next to the winner on peg 12, Match Secretary Dave Kent also had an excellent day to take second place with 81-10.  Dave caught around 36 lbs on bomb and 8ml pellet fished tight across and added around 45 lbs from his left margin on meat.

Third placed Les Smedley on peg 18 caught all his fish on method feeder fished tight across to the island, whist fourth placed John Adamson (peg 24) had around 15 lbs on method feeder and the rest on pole and paste fished at 11.5m.

Dave Cotterill (peg 2) was fifth with 66-08 and Steve Hoult (peg 32) sixth with 61-02.

The photos are archive shots of the top four on the day plus the match sheet.

In the Championships the top five remain the same although Les Smedley has jumped from fourth to second, with Mick Lager dropping to fourth from second.  The top five are: John Adamson 160; Les Smedley 149; Keith White 146; Mick Lager 144; Dave Kent 142. The top 10 are shown on our website www.levas.co.uk on the 2020 Match Results page.

There has been an alteration on the venues for the next two matches.  Match 12 will now be fished on the Canals at Rycroft on Sunday 30th August. Match 13 will be at Makins Fishery on Lake Two on Sunday 6th September.
