RIVER TRENT AT COLWICK – 19-24 August 2019
The LEVAS stretch of the River Trent at Colwick will be closed to anglers from Monday 19th to Friday 24th of August.
The Environment Agency will be using diggers and other machinery along the stretch making the bank gradient less steep. There will be no fishing allowed during this period for Health & Safety reasons.
When they increased the height of the flood-bank 5 years ago as part of the flood defence programme, they made the embankment so steep that mowing machines have turned over when grass cutting. The scheduled work is to rectify this.
The fishing pegs will not be touched, only the flood-bank and the footpath at the top.
