GRANGE POND RE-OPENS TODAY (25 SEPTEMBER 2021)

Saturday, 25 September 2021 11:39

The new "otter fence" has been completed on schedule and Grange Pond has re-opened for fishing from today.

The are some changes that members will notice.

  • Firstly, make sure you are carrying your Grange Pond key.  Not only will this be required to gain entry to the car park, but it will also be needed to open the new "otter proof" gate to gain entry to the pond.
  • Once you enter or exit the pond you must lock the gate behind you.
  • Secondly, there is now only the one access gate.
  • Once you are through the gate you can follow the path (that runs around the pond) to the left or right.
  • The fence runs all around the pond.  Do not tamper with the fence or make any attempt to climb over it for any reason.

The fence will hopefully ensure we have no otter predation, will ensure that we retain our fish stocks in the event of flooding, and give anglers fishing an element of security.

Many thanks to our General Secretary (David Kent) and our Head Bailiff (Paul Wheeldon) for all their efforts in ensuring a successful operation.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a LEVAS Championship Match on Grange Pond on Sunday 26 September, so it will be closed until 5pm.
