REPORT

The match was scheduled to be fished on the Carp Lake at Rycroft but had to be moved onto the Moat Pool as parts of the Carp Lake were flooded.

Dave Cotterill had a convincing win from peg 5, putting 59-02 on the scales. He caught carp to around seven pounds in weight fishing expander pellets on the pole at fourteen metres, which enabled him to present his bait over the “sunken island”.

Second place was taken by Keith White, who fished from peg 18 for his 43-01 weight of carp, which included fish to around eight pounds. Keith fished at 13 metres and alternated between hard and soft pellet to keep bites coming.

There was a close battle for third place with Steve Talbot coming out on top with 26-11 from peg 26, edging Steve Wilcock (peg 11), who had 26-02, into fourth place.

Fifth and sixth places were taken by Paul Skinner, who had 15-01 from peg 15, and Alan Welch with 14-14 from peg 6.

The top five are shown in the photos.

Match 19 will be on the Horseshoe Lake at Birch House Lakes on Sunday 24 November, with the final one on Sunday 1 December at Robinwood on Lake Two.

Steve Hoult retains his lead in the Championship with 249 points although Les Smedley has gained on him and now lies only four points adrift on 245. Paul Marriott has also gained on the leader and now has 230 points, and is chased by Dave Cotterill (198), Rob Pembridge (197), John Adamson (196) and Malc Munn (190).
