REPORT
The final LEVAS Championship of the year was fished on Sunday at Robinwood Lakes on Lake Two. Anglers arrived at the venue on a bright and frosty morning, and although the sun continued to shine, had to endure drizzle throughout the draw and while setting up to fish. This did cease soon after the start, but unfortunately cloud increased throughout the day and the sun only shone intermittently, keeping temperatures low throughout.
Paul Richardson made excellent use of corner peg 18 for a clear win with 20-04. With threequarters of the match completed all he had to show for his efforts was a crucian carp and several small roach. He switched to pole and corn into the corner in his margin and immediately found a small carp, which was quickly followed by another. After a quiet spell, a switch to maggot bait immediately produced two more carp which secured the win.
At the other end of the lake on peg 28, Rob Pembridge caught two carp on bomb and bread and added a third on pole and pellet for 12-12 and second place, well ahead of Steve Hoult’s third placed weight from peg 24, a single carp on pole and pellet which he caught halfway through the match.
Keith White continued his great run with 6-00 for fourth place from peg 31 (two carp on bread and pole), with Match Organiser Mick Lager in fifth place with 5-14 from peg 3 and Paul Marriott in sixth with 5-12 from peg 27, both taking a single carp on pole fished worm from the edge.
Although Steve Hoult is the 2019 Champion, I am unable to gain the final results of the other competitors for a couple of weeks.
