Friday, 08 January 2021 13:18

LONG EATON VICTORIA ANGLING SOCIETY

Revised rules for fishing at Grange Pond during National Lockdown -  January 2021

Members are advised that despite the severity of this new lockdown, Angling Trust has been able to convince the Government that fishing should be classed as exercise and so allowed to continue.  However this massively depends on anglers behaving properly within the rules including staying local, gathering limits, social distancing and time spent outdoors.

  1. The new government rules ( issued 7th January 2021) allow anglers to fish locally ONLY.

THEREFORE A MEMBER MUST LIVE WITHIN 5 MILES OF GRANGE POND IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO FISH THERE AT THIS TIME.

  1. All Members MUST be in possession of the current 2020/21 Membership Book and a current Environment Agency Rod Licence. (see website/Facebook for information)
  2. Please be aware of all Society Rules
  3. The pathway MUST be kept clear AT ALL TIMES. NO equipment of any sort must be placed across the pathway.
  4. Members may take their cycles to their chosen peg. Cycles MUST be placed clear of the pathway whilst fishing.
  5. ABSOLUTELY NO CYCLING AROUND THE POND. Anyone found doing so will face disciplinary action.
  6. ONLY ONE ANGLER PER PEG. However, if an adult member brings a child member to fish the platform can be shared (Be mindful of safety at all times)

PLEASE NOTE SOCIETY RULE 7. – Junior members under the age of 15 MUST be accompanied by an adult member at all times.

  1. A member may bring a spectator from the same bubble who MUST sit immediately behind the platform at all times
  2. Members MUST NOT move between pegs
  3. PLEASE REMEMBER: SOCIAL DISTANCING MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES.
  4. Members are asked to limit their use of mobile phones and bite alarms
  5. PLEASE NOTE: Fishing at Grange Pond is allowed between dawn and dusk ONLY. Anyone found to be fishing outside this period will face disciplinary action. NO NIGHT FISHING
  6. A member is responsible for clearing litter at their peg whether it is theirs or has been left by someone else. Any member found to have litter at their peg will face disciplinary action.

There is a team of bailiffs at Grange Pond.  These dedicated volunteers are there to ensure everyone is safe and enjoy their experience.       PLEASE RESPECT THE BAILIFFS

Any member contravening these rules may be asked to leave the fishery and /or face disciplinary action.

GRANGE POND – RULES REMINDER (5 November 2020)

Please note that all members MUST ONLY fish from the platforms/pegs provided.  This means that their seats/boxes, rod(s) and themselves must be positioned on the platform, with as much of their luggage as possible. Surplus (unused) items should be positioned immediately behind the platform, and must be at least 2m from the path.

DAWN & DUSK DEFINITION

If artificial light is required during access, egress, tackling up or packing you are breaking the rule.
