February 2023 - New Fish for Grange Pond

Monday, 13 February 2023 12:51

This morning (13 February) we received a delivery of carp for Grange Pond, a very welcome boost to the existing stocks.

About 180 fish in total, each with a weight in excess of two and a half pounds, was introduced. I can only describe their condition as "superb", mainly stunning looking mirrors, but with a smattering of commons as well.

This was overseen by LEVAS Officers & Committee Members Paul Wheeldon, Rob Pembridge and Mick Lager.

Once these fish have settled in I am sure they will impact sport positively.

Regarding current sport on Grange, on Saturday one angler caught around 18 carp, mainly on the pellet waggler with some on bomb.  Other anglers fishing Saturday also had a few carp (carp were caught on on all three banks of the lake that anglers were fishing), these falling to pole and also the method feeder, indicating that fish are on the move and willing to feed.

Just a reminder that the Grange Pond Winter Series will commence on Sunday 19th February, with a match every two weeks (five matches in total) so pegs 8 to 30 will be closed to pleasure anglers on match days. Only pegs 1 to 7 will be open.
