The first of the Grange Pond series of matches (to be fished fortnightly on Wednesday evenings, open to all, £10 for members and £12 to non-members) was fished on Wednesday 29 May. Unfortunately the weather was uncooperative with some heavy rain showers that undoubtedly adversely affected the results. However, most of the anglers caught fish and all of them enjoyed the match and had a good laugh.
Top weight was taken by Matthew Gaetto from peg 27. Matt fished with 14.5m of pole along the margin with hard pellet over corn and micro-pellet feed to tempt carp throughout the session, and managed to put 54-09 on the scales.
Second place was taken by Daniel Gaetto from peg 21, 44-08 of carp, all falling to pellet waggler.
Richard Lyon was third with 24-04 of margin caught carp from peg 30, all falling to corn fished over pellet feed, with Gary White filling fourth spot from peg 23, fishing the feeder cast towards the island.
The top four are shown in the photos with their catches. Thanks to Matt for the report and photos.
