GRANGE POND CLOSED AGAIN (17 MARCH 2022)

Thursday, 17 March 2022 19:07

Unfortunately, the heavy rain we experienced throughout the day yesterday lifted the water levels in the brook, and thanks to some unauthorised person who opened the sluice gate, the pond has flooded and has been closed to anglers.

The Paul Wheeldon and his team of bailiffs had done a magnificent job cleaning away the debris from the previous floods, were monitoring brook levels and hoped to keep the sluice closed to avoid water running into Grange.  To quote them "some idiot took it upon themselves to open the sluice and we are back to where we were."  Unfortunately, as the sluice level is higher than the path and pegs, the water runs in but not out.  It has to seep through the ground, hence the problem.

Paul will monitor Pond levels daily and will let members know when they may return via the Grange Pond Facebook page.  I will try and pass the information on here when that occurs.
