DEC 2024 - GRANGE POND, CLUB CHAMPS ETC

Friday, 20 December 2024 11:23

GRANGE POND: This had been due to re-open on yesterday (Thursday 19 December) but the recent rain storms have unfortunately had a detrimental effect and the pond is flooded again.  I will try and update you as soon as I have good news.

LEVAS has its own pond Facebook Page, "Official Grange Pond", which members fishing Grange should apply to join.  The page is for information giving only, and will keep you informed of water levels.

It has been announced on Official Grange Pond that the pond received a stock of fish this week.  I have no further news on this.

You may also be interested on another Facebook page, "Grange Pond Long Eaton".  This page allows discussion on topics of interest regarding the pond, although no detrimental or rude comments are allowed.  It is for anglers to voice their views and post catch results and methods etc..

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS, 2024: The official result has just become available from the Match Secretary.   There are a few slight variations from the (unofficial) list posted here after the final match of the year although the top placings remain unchanged.

Congratulations to Dan Gaetto (413 points) for his  magnificent performance throughout the year, and also to our own Match Secretary, David Kent (410), who led the table to some time before Dan overhauled him over the last two matches.  Malc Munn (386), Mick Lager (353) and Steve Welch (345) were the main challengers.

This is the first year since the change that points are allocated to the top anglers in every match, with 25 to the winner, 24 to runner up and so on down.  Anglers fishing but not weighing receive one point.  This favours anglers who attend the post matches and should encourage more to become regulars.

I only received this result on the LEVAS Match WhatsApp page as a photograph, which is shown here.  Apologies if it is hard to read.

SEASONAL WISHES:

I hope all members have a very happy Christmas and you achieve all you hope for in 2025.
