TACKLE THEFTS FROM PARKED CARS AT CRANFLEET / PASTURE LANE

Monday, 24 August 2020 12:50

Derbyshire Police have asked me to alert all members to take extra care when parking their vehicles at Cranfleet or Pasture Lane when fishing either the River Trent or the Cranfleet Canal.

Last week a van was broken into and a large quantity of tackle was stolen.  The Police are aware of the problem, undertake regular patrols in the area, and were actually in the vicinity at the time of the theft which demonstrates that extra care must be taken by anglers.

The recommendation is that no tackle, tools or belongings of value should be left in any vehicle that is parked in the area.  This may avoid the temptation to break into a vehicle. Should there be a break in this would limit it to damage and not loss.
